🔹 ART CARE & DISPLAY QUESTIONS

  1. How should I hang original artwork safely?
For most single pieces, we recommend using a monkey hook placed in the center—it’s simple to install and holds up to 30–50 lbs. If the artwork has a central support beam or requires added stability, use a level and two wall hooks to keep it straight. Avoid using nails, adhesive strips, or tape.

  2. How do I hang an art wall or gallery wall?
Lay your arrangement out on the floor first. Start with one central piece and build around it with consistent spacing (usually 2–4 inches between frames). Use a measuring tape and painter’s tape on the wall for layout. Always check weight and use secure hooks for each piece.

  3. Can I hang original art in direct sunlight?
No. Even with a UV varnish, repeated exposure to direct sunlight can fade or damage the surface over time. Hang your artwork in a space with indirect or diffused light for best preservation.

  4. Can I hang artwork in humid spaces like bathrooms?
Avoid hanging paper-based artwork in humid areas. Sealed canvas or masonite may be suitable for well-ventilated spaces, but never in high-moisture rooms like saunas or enclosed showers.

  5. How should I clean or dust my artwork?
Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth and dust gently around the frame. Never spray cleaning products near the artwork or touch the painted surface with your hands.

  6. Can I reframe the artwork I purchase?
Yes. Most pieces are shipped unframed or with simple protective framing. You’re free to reframe it, but use acid-free materials and a professional framer if possible—especially for paper-based works.

  7. How should I store artwork I’m not displaying?
Keep it flat (for paper), in a dry, cool, dark space. Use acid-free tissue or archival sleeves. Avoid attics, basements, and areas with temperature swings or moisture.

  8. What’s the best height to hang art?
Eye level is standard—typically 57–60 inches from the floor to the center of the piece. For gallery walls or above furniture, aim for balance with the surrounding elements.

  9. Can I use command strips to hang art?
We don’t recommend it for original artwork. Use proper hardware rated for the piece’s weight to prevent falls or damage.

  10. Do I need to frame art on canvas or masonite?
Not necessarily. Many contemporary collectors display canvas or masonite with a clean edge. Framing is optional and based on personal style or protection needs.
